When people dont like you for their reason, you didnt to do or say anything to people. If they dont like you, a whole bunch of them will do anything they can to get you out. There are people in here that will take your packages, that are by your apartment door. They will threaten to harm you, and sometime they will harm you. Heartland Apartments was my first choice for retirement housing. Why? 1) security 2) downtown 3)within walking distance to bus terminal. 4) Pantry monthly 5)Nice Community room, washers and dryers, pool table, vending m achines, etc.Why only 3 stars. The security system has been down for 4 years now. So many restrictions to community room, washers and dryers broke down more often than not. The pool table needs felt replaced and table leveled. I have been a resident at the Manor for more than four years. The staff are pleasant and care for residents, although I hear its difficult to become a resident. Amenities include BHA voucher acceptance, on-si te food pantry, community room (with television and computer with Internet uplink), furnished rooms, a backyard with picnic tables, gardening opportunities, contracted sidewalk de-icing, and social work case management (goal-setting and resource research).A negative is the terminal residency attitude (places like this ought be feeder programs for organizations such as Project HOPE, which advocates for home ownership thru the tiny house movement). The neighbors skew old and disabled (over half the efficiency-type units are reserved for those receiving disability payments), and theres too little young bloodan air of stagnancy (masquerading as peace) pervades the place, as a consequence.All-in-all, a great place to call home. more ... hide ...
