As far as the up keep of this place which is Section 8, the maintenance men are the best. You never know how the management is going to be. I havent had many problems but many others have. On top of that, we are very res tricted by how to get our problems heard much less acted on. I moved in 15 years ago and back then we had the best manager who really cared about us. She realized that we are Seniors and need to be treated accordingly. No one has come close to Gretchen since then. It has become very sad, but I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, but anymore, thats about all I can say. more ... hide ...

Im going into my third year of living at The Residences of Crystal Lake and I actually like it here. Jennie, the property manager, works very hard to make sure all work orders are done very quickly and all concerns, iss ues, etc., are handled to the tenants satisfaction. Everyone in the building is very nice and super-friendly and neighbors look out for each other. Some of the tenants have organized game nights, barbeques, meet & greets with coffee and donuts, dinners, lunches, ice cream socials and other activities. Its very quiet and peaceful, and I enjoy coming home to relax in my cozy, bright apartment. Theres a nice computer room and spacious outdoor patio area to sit and socialize and get some sun with friends, family, or neighbors. Its very clean, organized and well-run thanks to Jennie and Brian (maintenance). Its really nice to see a friendly face and hear a \"Good morning,\" \"Hi,\" or \"How are you?\" every day and go about your day!! more ... hide ...

If you have a misfortune to live higher than the first floor and the elevator breaks down on the weekend, get ready to do a walk-up. The elevator wont be fixed over the weekend; the management has posted a notice to the effect that they are not even required to have an elevator in a 3-story building -- mind you, this place is for the older folks. There is no freight elevator in the building which doesnt make the process of moving in & out any easier. There is only one laundry room located all the way up on the top floor.The place is mostly quiet, save an occasional maintenance visit to your apartment without a prior notice.Besides, the image on the website is confusing. It displays a couple sitting by the lake -- have you seen any at the complex? I bet not. more ... hide ...
