do not move into cathedral plaza if you are handicapped. i moved into a handicapped unit. 4 months later i can not find a single feature in this unit or in the bldg designed to aid me . because of intervention by a lo cal professional, some adjustments were made .. still they are only equivalent to what kiemle hagood provides as a matter of course . go there. i dont know what they were thinking ... its a stunning level of incompetence. we are required to lug our garbage onto an elevator and put it into a heavy lidded dumpster IN THE PARKING LOT behind the bldg. i have already been hit by a car in a parking lot in broad daylight . my disability was exacerbated by that .the deck is a little unusable rectangle which provides me a view directly of a concrete wall, and a parking lot . thats it .the unit is full of storage space for a tall person and a ladder and an assistant . do not believe what they say about the views ....and they provide no decor on the hall ways except pictures of the cross on the church. to remind us of their charity, i guess. this isnt charity . its hud entitlement . .i have been here now 4 months and have yet to see a bird alight the concrete wall outside my window. . if your handicap involves your upper body arms shoulders spine.. you could do no worse than live in this bldg i dont know how it aids any sort of handicap, except perhaps, financial i am generally very pleased with catholic charities but this is a disaster and a grave disappointment for me . i left a place where i had in fact much less difficulty .i never slipped in the tub .inever had a problem getting out of it . i could reach my closet bars and shelves without hurting my arms. this place has shelving designed for 6 footers with arms of steel. i could make this review ..comedic. and i would if i were not so devastated by this, quite possibly the worse decision i ever made . if you think you want to live here .. come look at everything . EVERYTHING good luck oh, that \"nearby \" rosauers grocery is about a mile away. nearby for those of you who drive or have help. its quite a hike.... in a walker .. in the snow. no consideration was given to the requirements of anyone not probably able to live on their own.. some of course with personal aids. i knew i should have help going to the store and to the doctor and i had that. now i need help... with pretty much... everything . ive had to buy stools and benches and shower heads i didnt need anyplace else. i gave up a lovely place for very much less.. i intend to move as soon as i can afford to. moving here pretty much depleted my resources to go anywhere else. for a long time ... there are old people living here who refuse to wear masks. imagine that!!! unbelievable . go someplace .. safe .. this isnt it. and other people living here who are experiencing similar disappointments are afraid to say anything because its a charity and they are just grateful for the help. . they are meek. they are poor . and they deserve. better . than what exists here at catholic charities.oh they have walk in showers here , just not in the units designated handicapped units . and the dimensions of everything would have been perfect for a dormitory for gonzagas basketball team... this is absurd. dont count on christian charity here . it is in short supply . this is a den of... hypocrisy and deception there is no handicapped accessible anything about my apartment . i waited a month to have a closet rod lowered . a month. it was 20 inches above my head. another month to have my shower cutout . they did not tell me they would do it , my doctor had to ...tell them. then they acted quickly. i was threatened with physical violence by a mentally ill resident on christmas eve . he did not succeed in beating me to death with my own cane but management never offered any sort of apology or follow up to my complaint. we were served thanksgiving dinner treat by a woman not wearing a mask. oh theres more . buts its exhausting . exhausting . and dismal. get to kiemle hagood . more ... hide ...

The manager and her maintenance guy are amazing and quick to address any issues that arise big or small. Rent is high, but its Seattle so actually its reasonable. These are older townhouses, but they are clean an d homey. The upstairs is prone to mold, especially the window sills, so I had to buy a large dehumidifier to combat that despite using the fan when showering and cooking. No air conditioning so the upstairs is consistently warm, but in Summer is rather sit in direct sunlight than be upstairs. Parking is usually great. Garbages and recycle get pretty full, but once overflowing its garbage day, so its okay. Its close to all the essentials, recommend for students. This place is super dog and kid friendly, just remember to keep dogs on leashes and to clean up after them. The biggest issue with living here is the park bathrooms at night (drug deals and users), but Burke Gilman Place Apartments cant do anything about it as it is a public park. more ... hide ...

I had to find a place where my mom (who needed nursing home care) could have my father close by (he only needed an apartment - independent living). Talk about hitting a home run, this complex has been absolutely wonderf ul. Wish I had found this complex 5 years earlier (when mom & dad moved to an Assisted Living facility). After mom passed (she outlived her life expectancy by double), dad wanted to stay at this location because of all the outstanding services they offer plus the friendly neighbors and staff (Nurses / Support / Office / Maintenance / Life Enhancement People / etc.). Ive recommended to 5 different family and close friends to locate here, as their parents health declined and they were looking for care.I WOULD NOT GO ANYPLACE ELSE IN THE YAKIMA AREA!! more ... hide ...
