The Housing Authority of the Town of West Hartford is opening its waiting list for the Tenant-Based Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program. This program provides federal subsidies for safe and affordable housing to low-income individuals who meet the income and eligibility guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and WHHA. The income limits for various household sizes are provided. Interested applicants can submit a pre-application online between October 2, 2023, and October 20, 2023. Only one pre-application per family is allowed, and duplicates will be disqualified. A random-draw lottery will select 1000 pre-applications, with notifications to be sent out by October 31, 2023. Disabled individuals requiring assistance can visit a dedicated application center on specific dates.
