Preserving Affordable Section 8 Housing in Rockland County: The Heroes Behind the Transformation

In Rockland County, the story of preserving and revitalizing affordable Section 8 housing comes to life through the efforts of Hudson Valley Property Group (HVPG) and Vitus. HVPG, led by partners Andy Cavaluzzi and Jason Bordainick, recently acquired and renovated two Section 8 properties in Spring Valley, demonstrating their commitment to their hometown. The $11 million renovation project includes security upgrades, energy-efficient lighting, and ADA-compliant improvements.

Cooperation from local entities such as the Village of Spring Valley, the Town of Clarkstown, and the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency, along with financial support, played a crucial role in the project’s success. The properties serve an ever-increasing demand for affordable Section 8 housing in Rockland County.
