I have family in the housing authority business with lots of experience, and all of them said that while housing authorities must renew the lease annually, it is not necessary that the tenant remains there for the full year. If you desire to reside in a housing authority near Goodland, I urge you to apply at Colby and drive the 30 minutes to Goodland. Among the multiple housing authorities I have lived in, Goodland was undoubtedly the worst experience. Also, I still haven't obtained my security deposit for some unknown reason. I moved out at the start of June. I tried calling them multiple times, including 4 times today, to explore why this may be, but they still haven't responded. Since you are unwilling to answer your phone, I want you to know that I anticipate obtaining twice the amount of my security deposit in the mail soon since according to the general housing authority regulations, if the tenant does not receive their security deposit within 30 days of moving out, the housing authority is obligated to give them back double that amount.
