I am trying to report a previous employee who rejected and discarded my application for a housing voucher. She is now employed by the place I am renting from and is attempting to make me pay rent for a unit which is in a very poor condition, without air conditioning. Also, I have children, one of whom is disabled, and we have been in this unit for almost six months. I have lost weight and had to go to the hospital as a result. There is mold on the living room floor from a water tank in the closet that has wires everywhere and is leaking. They were aware of the state of the apartment, and after I signed and paid for the rent and deposit, three days later I received an eviction notice and they refused to reimburse the deposit. When she came to collect the rent, I had to get the police involved, as she jumped in my face, coughing as if she had COVID-19 and then asked if I had received my stimulus check. How did she even know I was due one? And secondly, she was aware that I had no income; thirdly, when I said no, someone broke into my home while I was still present the following day. I reported all of this to the police, who advised me to take the landlords to court, saying it was illegal and against my rights as more ... hide ...
