I applied for emergency housing for me and my two children and was met with delays. They kept my file aside without reviewing it and lied to me about Dan not being there. The secretary then proceeded to go through my folder in an unprofessional manne I applied for emergency housing for me and my two children and was met with delays. The secretary then proceeded to go through my folder in an unprofessional manner, asking me for details already included. As a person with a disability, I expected respect in the same way that I showed them. I am currently living with my former partner who has stopped paying rent, thus preventing my children and I from being placed on the emergency housing list (we have been on the Section 8 and housing list for over nine years). I am disappointed that Dan (who was there and left) told me that many people who come in alone with their kids end up having their significant other move back in after being accepted. I think it is unacceptable and unprofessional to judge everyone who walks in the same way. I am particularly disgusted with how the secretary handled the situation. I don't deserve to be lied to or treated as if I am a deceitful and selfish individual, like many of those who pass through the door. more ... hide ...
