I recently received a voucher, but unfortunately there is not much to choose from in Norwalk. The landlords do not cater to section 8 tenants, and their rent is too high for me to afford as I have a child. I don't consider a living room to be a room. Most of the buildings that do accept section 8 are senior citizen homes, but I'm only 39. I find it strange that the city would give out vouchers before ensuring housing choices are available. This is why many people return their vouchers to Norwalk. On top of that, the gas prices are too high to keep making trips just to hear that there is no vacancy. The application fees of 25, 45, or 50 dollars is too steep in this economic climate. The workers just tell me to look, but how can I look for something that doesn't exist in Norwalk? Thankfully, I already live in a two bedroom, but I was hoping to find a better home for my daughter. Apparently, it is not possible in Norwalk. Finally, the apartments that do accept section 8 are in terrible condition and I have to pay for all utilities, including lawn service and trash. more ... hide ...

They make it impossible to find a place to live mostly the whole entire community does not accept section 8 I dont think they should take anyone trying to transfer to this city concidering the landlords here doesnt take the voucher i have two childre They make it impossible to find a place to live mostly the whole entire community does not accept section 8 I dont think they should take anyone trying to transfer to this city concidering the landlords here doesnt take the voucher i have two children i came from Las Vegas and they lowered my voucher by hundreds of dollars i had a 3 bedroom in vegas coming to Norwalk i only qualify for a 1bedroom i think they want me to lose my section 8 and they should not allow people to transfer to this city knowing they lower your voucher and most landlords dont accept the voucher they dont have a list unless your a senior citizen please do not come to the city of Norwalk unless you want to be homeless because personally i think i will be homeless soon and ive been on housing for 10 years and this is the worse experience i have ever had more ... hide ...
