We have seen €œtears of joy€ as We have had the chance to work with Wayne Metro and the City of Detroit/DWSD for around one month now, and what an incredibly moving and rewarding experience it has been getting to know the inhabitants of Detroit! We have seen €œtears of joy€ as we assist homeowners in obtaining even the most basic necessities of life, while working in so many homes. A homeowner expressed that this Christmas is by far the best he has ever received in his approximately 70 years, as he receives clean water and work starts on his new sewer line. This program is really necessary in the Detroit community. We have seen lives changed and many signs of optimism and self-esteem in these members of the community. The timeline for the funding of this fabulous opportunity is set to end at the end of the year, unless the state extends the program. In all my years of underground utility work, I have never seen a program that brings so much transformation to the community, and especially to those receiving this program.
