For years, we had been deprived of heat and air and had an old wood stove with an impenetrable layer of creosote in the chimney. When our unit was functioning, it cost us between $800-$950 a month to keep it running in the winter. After catching up with our property taxes, we applied for assistance and, on the day we found out we had been approved, I shed happy tears. The temperature inside the house was 105 degrees that same day. Two weeks later, when the unit was installed, it had reached 109 degrees. As the installation was being done, I fell asleep in a chair and woke up drenched in sweat due to my post-COVID breathing issues. The installer, Randy, never complained despite having to work in the unbearable heat for 6 hours. We were also informed that someone was going to come and insulate. We want to express our sincere gratitude to West Central for this. Now that the house is air-conditioned, I'm able to do things like cook, clean and do laundry again, which was impossible because of the extreme heat before.
