I've been on the waiting list for housing for six years and always get the same response: nothing available at the moment, have you tried the mission? When applications are filled out, I'm told I do qualify, but there are hundreds of people ahead of me in line. Whenever I worked, I gave a portion of my pay to aid those in need in the community, yet now that I'm the one asking for help, I'm met with disbelief. I'm willing to sleep in my truck if I have to, because Hendersonville needs to help each other out. As a Christian, I donate blood and help anyone I can, and will continue to do so until I'm called home. If I was from another country, I would get the help I require. I went back to WCCA, and they said they couldn't cover rent but would give me $300 towards a deposit. I've been working since I was 14 and have never been dependent on welfare or any other organizations. I always give as the Bible instructs. God loves a cheerful giver.
