Is this a typical practice for all such facilities? What should we do when we receive an email each week informing us that no visitation is allowed due to personnel having tested positive? No patient/resident has been infected, only staff. Are there any repercussions for these individuals? Are they still being paid when quarantined? I feel that more severe consequences could work to reduce the amount of irresponsible behavior by employees.I have already informed the authorities of the fact that having visits from family, friends, and religious leaders can have a positive effect on the wellbeing of the residents.Spirituality is a significant factor in physical health.Shouldn't the Department of Public Health monitor if any staff members at a nursing home have tested positive or been exposed to Covid-19 on numerous occasions? If so, then they should be met with harsh penalties. If someone tests positive twice, they should be out of a job!I'm not one to point fingers without being willing to try and find a solution, so please be aware that I am looking into this matter on a higher level.The residents should be able to have visitors and eat meals with their loved ones, as well. more ... hide ...
