We went to check on her place.. Which was of course not done yet. Day after day...not done. And people were fighting and yelling. Even right outside the office...they did nothing. Likely scared to death. Broken windows, creepy ! Its like what I imagine will be after the end of the world. Low income should never mean unsafe. And these places are not safe. I dont know who overseas section 8 and program housing...but they are doing a lousy job. In fact Im going to contact the housing programs..and tell them they are seriously dropping the ball. This is unacceptable.more ...hide ...

It doesnt say in select homes. I got to the place and first of all the nice woman wasnt wearing a mask. She said she cant because she has Asthma. I understand that, but she can wear a shield. Then she was really nice and said there are a lot of apartments that need to be turned around so she could have one by the time I want to move it. I told her I wanted to see one and was told that she couldnt show one to me. I asked her if she expected me to rent it sight unseen. she said she could show me pictures.. I told her I could see pictures online. Thats when I said \"There are washer and dryers in the apartment homes right?\" She told me no only in the apartment homes.Red flags went up and I said thank you and left. What kind of a place would I be living in if they lie on their website.more ...hide ...

These apartments were not designed with noise in mind and it doesn€™t help that they haven€™t been seriously updated in 20+ years. I lived here off and on for a few years and each apartment I leased had noise issues €“ from yelling, screaming (babies + small children... at all hours of the day), recorder-playing, television-watching, and music-playing. While you should be able to do most of these things in the comfort of your own apartment, with this complex the noise carryover is just awful. Ear plugs were a must because there is no real enforcement of the quiet enjoyment or noise clauses in the lease save for a €œtalking-to€. One neighbor played music so loud that it literally vibrated the walls and knocked down pictures. When we calmly and politely approached this neighbor about their noise, they were very aggressive and rude, so much so that means were taken to avoid them in common areas for fear of actual physical confrontation. Management€™s response to this issue was to insist that we obtain a police report referencing the noise, but this was not very practical €“ when we did try to call the non-emergency line and complain, we were on hold for almost and hour and eventually gave up because the music had stopped. The noise was the biggest issue had at this complex, but there were several other inconveniences. The on-site laundromats claim to take both quarters and cards, but the card readers quickly stopped working. There were a couple of run-ins with what appeared to be non-residents in the laundromats (the doors lock, but don€™t latch) who used the facility to charge their phones and kept bothering my roommate and I for our numbers. On one occasion, there were several cars on the property that had their tires slashed in the middle of the night. On another occasion, men were panhandling at our front door. The wood around the deadbolt and latch of both the front and back door of the apartment was visibly deteriorating. Parking is a nightmare, especially if you arrive late at night €“ usually the only open spaces were on the opposite side of the complex and I would end up walking alone, at night, in the dark, back to my apartment after work. The apartment most recently inhabited was not ready when we were told it would be and when we did end up moving in, it was not clean. The carpet was dirty, and the kitchen walls were covered with grease and food stains.more ...hide ...
