As an elderly person living with a long-term disability, I had always had a good credit score. However, after becoming ill and providing financial support for my mother with Alzheimer's, my credit score dropped drastically, and I was forced to declare bankruptcy four times. I told Linda all of this before I went to her, and she said there should be no problem. Additionally, there were identity theft issues on my report. I took a copy of my credit report to Linda before she started to see if I would pass, but she disregarded it and took my application fee. She called me later to say I had failed and spoke to me in a degrading manner. I was hurt, embarrassed and humiliated. Later, Rose, who worked with Linda, called me to say there was availability, so I called Linda again, but she was insulting and spoke to me in a disrespectful way. I believe Linda knew all along that they weren't going to rent to me, but wanted the application fee anyway. This place is wrong for treating me this way; the rent was affordable, and I had been through a lot to get where I am. They were very rude, deceitful and discriminatory.more ...hide ...

Rachal and Cynthia have been very helpful and professional when I have asked them for something, while Marco does an excellent job of keeping the communal areas neat. Oscar may grumble, but he has replaced a faulty smoke alarm in the bedroom and mended a dripping bathtub faucet when needed. I'm pleased that some of our activities are beginning again. As a watercolour painter, I'm really looking forward to using the art studios again and taking part in art classes. I appreciate that we can still meditate via Zoom, but I find the in-person classes even better and I'm hoping that social gatherings will be possible soon. I fully understand Engage's worries about Covid, but I assume everyone is already vaccinated or else they would be required to be. All in all, I'm really enjoying living here and I've made some wonderful friends. The only things that stop me from giving this place five stars are the need for a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, the lack of cleanliness of some of the windows (some are so grimy that you can hardly make out the outside from the inside) and the uncertain state of the building's old plumbing. This really is a unique and attractive building and I thank you for allowing me to share my opinion.more ...hide ...

A landmark of the Burbank skyline. While I have never been inside, I can personally testify that all of the people inside that I have seen have seemed happy with the quality of service that they are being given.
