The landlord, Towbes Group Inc., rents these units under the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program and accepts HUD Section 8 vouchers and the TCAC programs. The location, maintenance, and floor plans are the only good features of the property. TG recently increased rent for all Section 8 tenants by $200 per month. Moreover, there is no accessibility for handicapped people in the common areas, such as the pool and clubhouse. Additionally, there are no annual building inspections and no care for safety issues, e.g. blocked fire extinguishers or blocked access to natural gas in the water heater closets caused by tenants' personal items. The on-site property manager plus one administrative support are insufficiently qualified, as they do not know applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, lack interpersonal tenant communication skills, do not enforce terms of rental agreement, do not resolve tenant complaints, and have no courtesy or respect to tenants. Contact with senior staff of the corporate office is also unsatisfactory. The morale of the residents is very low because of the low standards of The Towbes Group. From my experience living in apartments, The Towbes Group/Cypress Meadows is the worst place I have ever stayed.more ...hide ...
