It used to be delicious, but then the chef was let go and since then, t I must confess that my buddy who is resident at the facility has mentioned that the place is exceptionally tidy and looks and feels like a hotel. However, the food is horrendous. It used to be delicious, but then the chef was let go and since then, the food has become inedible. For instance, the chicken is dry and the meals are inedible - one day they served corned beef and it was so tough not even a knife could cut it. People living there voiced their displeasure, but were only told that things were being dealt with. I contacted the director several months ago but still no improvement in the meals. I am frustrated because there is nothing I can do, as the residents cannot go elsewhere to eat. For many of them, the only thing they anticipate is having a good meal, which is not the case at Libby Bortz Assisted Living. Here is an example of the options presented: Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans or Italian Seasoned Pork with Rice Pilaf and Snap Peas. It may sound appealing, but the taste leaves much to be desired. I am writing this review with the hope that someone will take notice and start making the food more palatable. more ... hide ...
