Just because people need low-income housing does not give people like Shelley and Beacon Management the right to disrespect, belittle, and treat us poorly. I refused to sign the lease because the Colorado Springs Housing Authority had not approved the move. Shelley became hostile and started throwing her pen on the desk; she was very rude and said "I dont think this is going to work out". Even after the Housing Authority approved the unit, I still had a bad feeling about it due to the way Shelley had acted. I requested my deposit back, but they refused, citing that Shelley had said the move was not going to work out. I called Beacon Corporate Office numerous times, but no one ever called me back. Shelley is incompetent when it comes to Section 8 and has a tendency to say one thing, then come back and deny ever saying it. The entire experience was bizarre and I would advise against trusting her, as she can be as sly as a viper and take your money. She wears a "preppy girl" look despite being a bit too old for it; it's one thing to dress youthful, but it's another to be trying to recapture one's youth. more ... hide ...
