This was much better than dealing with traffic, even in the colder months. I was also able to easily reach both the Eisenhower and Kennedy Expressways, allowing me to visit my parents in the suburbs of the northwest and friends elsewhere in the Chicago area. Moreover, the Ashland stop of the Pink and Green Lines was nearby, as were express buses that headed into and out of downtown on Madison and Washington. Having a covered garage was a great plus, but I prefer to get around on foot or bike, and this central spot suited me well, allowing me to leave my car at home on the weekends.
I did not move here because of the trendy local businesses, but I can't complain about the additional development that has taken place here either. All the essentials are here, including Mariano's, Whole Foods, H Mart, Target, and Green City Market. Randolph Street and Fulton Market have also seen a surge of great restaurants, and there are fantastic cafes too (my favorite, Sip, will be reopening post-COVID). Traffic has gotten increasingly worse, but the convenience of WP Tower is still a major plus for this area. Those who need to be close to all the city has to offer should definitely consider this neighborhood.more ...hide ...
