I canceled two appointments, one due to a clash in my work sI had visited Dr. Chavez a few years prior and there had been no issues. However, after developing a cold that caused a lingering cough, my primary physician referred me back to Dr. Chavez. I canceled two appointments, one due to a clash in my work schedule and the second due to being severely ill with the flu. I called for a new appointment a year later as the cough was still present and the receptionist informed me that I needed another referral from my doctor due to the two cancelled appointments. My physician told me two weeks later that Dr. Chavez would not see me due to the two cancellations and two no-shows. As I was planning my wedding at the time, I did not receive any reminders of my appointments like I had before and I cannot dispute the two no-shows. I think they could have simply asked me the reasons for the cancelled and missed appointments before deciding whether or not to see me. It is likely that I am not the first or last to have this issue, and if it happens too often, Dr. Chavez's practice will suffer. I was fond of him too.more ...hide ...
