However, this was my first time attempting to rent an income based apartment and I would rather not go through this process again. The process was so intrusive. I had to pay a $400 deposit at the time of applying. I was told that I probably made too much money, but they would let the company reviewing the application make the decision. The process was supposed to take 5 to 7 days, yet it took much longer. I called the office around 15 times a day, yet no one ever answered the phone and my messages were never returned. After contacting the company responsible for the complex's construction, I finally got a call back suggesting that the paperwork had not been submitted to the right people. I was then told that I did indeed make too much money so I would not be getting the apartment. I asked when I would get my deposit back and was told that it would come from New Orleans and there was no exact timeframe; it could take up to two weeks. I live in Baton Rouge and I shouldn't have to go through such an ordeal to get my money back for an apartment I can't rent. It's been a week and two days since then and I have called at least 3 times a day for the past week, yet I have never received an answer, not even once, and even my messages have gone unanswered. It's incredibly annoying to have to go through this to get my money back.more ...hide ...
