My grandma, my family, and I had an enjoyable experience there. The personnel were friendly, optimistic, supportive, and patient with both guests and inhabitants. I was astonished at how composed they remained when dealing with my grandmother and her fellow occupants, despite some trying tasks and dispositions. She was constantly addressed by name as she walked down the hallways, which I know was highly valued by her. They were attentive and respectful of my family's demands and wishes for my grandmother. They strive to provide proper activities for the inhabitants, motivating them to move and socialize as much as possible. Whenever I visited, I had to look for her everywhere! I might find her at the afternoon movie, a talk group, music therapy, snack time, outside, or getting her nails done. Even at the end when my grandmother passed, the staff was so kind. The supervisors welcomed us at the door, expressing their sympathy, giving out hugs and kind words. They had tidied up her room, arranged her body in a way that looked like she was sleeping peacefully (which seemed odd but was actually quite meaningful in the moment), and had put out extra tissues, water, and chairs. They even asked if there were any staff members she would have wanted at the service. It was a very touching gesture, and for someone who may not have had many people at theirmore ...hide ...

This is a terrible place to live. The food is old, the staff is disrespectful, and they don't really help with anything. The food is old, the staff is disrespectful, and they don't really help with anything. While I was there, my work uniforms were stolen, among other things, and the staff just said "Wow." There was no disciplinary action taken or anything. Another resident either lost or had her money stolen and, at the time of the incident, I was at work. They never gave me transportation to or even assistance with getting there, but when I arrived back the next morning, I was accused of stealing and told that no resources would be given to me because I got my hair done and bought new uniforms. The place is very unsanitary- they have roaches and bedbugs. Don't let them fool you into thinking they don't because they will tell you they wash everything before it's taken back to the living commons. They force religion on you and treat adults like 12 or 13 year old kids. If you have court or probation, they don't help you get to or from there. There are plenty of other shelters out there that are somewhat better than this one. Save your money and find an apartment.more ...hide ...
