Edit Rental Inquiry Greetings. I'm a 64 year old single male, with 6 year old adopted domestic shorthair male tabby cat, neutered, who also came with front claws removed. He is indoor, and cat litter trained. I live alone, and I'm seeking a one-bedroom apartment to rent in, or near, downtown Portland, Westbrook, Biddeford, or Brunswick. I am car-free and need access to public transportation. I�m interested in a year lease, and most likely would stay longer, as my renting history would indicate. I am seeking a one, or two-bedroom unit. Stairs would be okay, elevator would be ideal. I�d prefer not to be on the ground floor. I prefer a quiet, corner unit away from traffic, noisy children, and troublesome neighbors. A sunny apartment and one with a deck or balcony would be sweet. Storage is always a plus. Please note that my current Credit Score is approximately 810. During my 30 years in Maine, all of them in Portland, I've rented at 3 addresses. The first was a "transition apartment" for 15 months after relocating here from Boston, in 1992. The second was for 22 years (two different units in the same private home; two different sets of landlords)... I moved when the last owners sold the house, in late October, 2015. The third apartment is my current one, starting in November, 2015. As a tenant, I am quiet and respectful of others. I have never been late on rent and I keep a well-appointed, clean, uncluttered apartment: it is my sanctuary. I am friendly, but I also respect privacy. I am told that I�m a good neighbor and tenant to have, as my references should attest to. I am college-educated, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 1981, in psychology. I worked for 50 years in many capacities, including 30 years as a mental health professional, 8 years as a commercial driver, and 5 years as a tour guide. In 2020 I took early Social Security retirement and stopped working. My retirement income is $17.064 annually, and I will collect a small pension from a former employer when I turn 65. My hobbies include freelance writing, photography, music, theater, travel, and outdoor activities. I have many solid friendships, some which go back to the 1960�s: I consider my friends my family. I maintain a good connection with my biological family as well, most of whom live in N.H. and Massachusetts. This building in Portland's West End where I've been living since 2015 just got purchased on 2/15/22, and I need to move. I�m looking to move in on June 1, possibly May 1, 2022.
