The girl working in the office on 11/20 needs an attitude check. If she treats her residents the same way she treats delivery drivers she doesnt deserve the job. Zero professionalism.

People's cars are broken into as there is solid ground in the area, and the children are misbehaving with their mothers not paying attention. There have been thefts from stores in the area and the family that lived there for 21 years has seen it going downhill. The caretaker's niece is aware of what goes on and it shouldn't be her concern. Another family, good friends of mine and my siblings, had to move for no valid reason and were glad to leave. My advice is to look for somewhere else to live, as when the family moved in, no improvements had been made. Furthermore, I know that one of the neighbors had drug dealers coming in and out and even had a friend living there for free for a few years.more ...hide ...

We finally bought a house for our growing family, otherwise we would have stayed! Staff was always friendly and helpful (and especially kind to our kids), the building was well maintained with management staying up to date with safety as well as voluntary upgrades. The few minor problems we had over the years (usually caused by our adventurous kiddos) were usually addressed within the same day. The patch of lawn right outside our walk-out patio door saw hours of fun year round (and the neighbors were always gracious and smiling as our kids took over the sidewalk with chalk, paint, or shovels in the wintertime), with a park a block away for more energetic adventures. Neighbors were nice, and overall a quiet place to live (we were by far probably the loudest!). I couldn€™t have asked for anything more from a place for our young family to live. When I came to write this review, I was honestly shocked to see some of the other reviews, so I€™d like to make a couple notes:1. In our first interactions with the apartment manager, she was professional, straightforward, and to-the-point. Subsequent interactions varied - if I was bringing up a concern she was very prompt in getting it documented and addressed, etc; if we happened to run into her and we were just saying hi, she was much more relaxed and engaging with the kids. I personally appreciated her focus and attention to detail - I always felt that she was being conscious of not wasting MY time (especially as a mom with littles in tow), as well as still maintaining all her duties overseeing 120+ apartments and 30+ townhouses. Then again, I wasn€™t raised in Minnesota, so half of the beat-around-the-bush niceties before finally saying what you intend to say, and taking half an hour to say goodbye have always been a bit annoying to me.2. In my 14+ years of renting, I have never once been €œoffended€ that a management company did not call me back...I simply assumed that if I didn€™t hear from them, they didn€™t have any availability. It€™s a poor use of personnel resources to have them call back every inquiry if they don€™t have anything available anyway. And I was always appreciative of the managers who did pick up when I called and simply told me they didn€™t have anything available - 30 seconds or less was a win. Also, apartment listing sites will almost ALWAYS list the properties as €œcoming soon€...it would be a full-time job to be constantly updating it.3. Before we moved in they installed new carpet (due to the duration of time the last tenant had been there), and they also installed a new dishwasher. It had a newer fridge, a slightly dated but perfectly functional stove, and all other appliances/utilities were just fine. Yes, it had builders€™-grade 90€™s cabinetry (aka just your basic honey oak cabinets and doors), but they were sturdy and held up against our 4 kids. It was by FAR the nicest apartment I have ever lived in, and barely more expensive than other places we looked at with less square footage. We actually found Park Avenue by accident as we were looking at an apartment complex across the street that was not nearly as well kept. The surrounding neighborhood was very nice and quiet though, and I felt completely safe taking my kids on walks and bike rides. There were also several other parks nearby we would walk/ride to.4. No, I was not compensated anything for this review. I rarely/never write reviews for anything, largely because I have 4 young kids - but that€™s why I€™m writing this. Seems that the people who are really pleased living at Park Avenue don€™t have the time to leave reviews, or haven€™t taken the opportunity. Two of our neighbors have been there for over 14 years, many other have been there for several. Seeing a moving truck in the lot only happens every couple months, which yes, means limited availability, but also says a LOT about the community.more ...hide ...
