Unfortunately, I was told four days before my move-in date that I couldn't afford the apartment because the payment standard for a 2 bedroom is $1021, and a 2 bedroom/2 bath ranch style is $1060. I had only gotten section 8 a year earlier, so I was aware of payment standards, but the apartments claimed that "every situation is different" - which isn't true. No one wanted to take responsibility and everyone acted like they were unaware of the situation. If Delta didn't want to accept Kansas City vouchers like the rest of Jackson county, she could have said that. It was a waste of time and I didn't get the $25 background check fee back, but I did get my deposit back. It's possible that under different circumstances, they would have been more decent, but in this case, they clearly toyed with me and wasted my time. more ... hide ...
