As I do not live on the property but do have an older family member there, I can only answer from what I have seen and heard.. As for the apartment Its quiet and clean. As for the apartment Its quiet and clean. There is a club house in office building but nothing ever going on. This is not an active Senior community. People are nice and clean for most part. Although a few concerns of drugs and concerns of non tenants living with tenants. This is a senior (older adults and retirement and disabled community) not family apartments. You can have a pet that is breed and size approved and most times Dr approved therapy companion animals. Must be leashed and not allow to roam free to bite other residents or pets. Bethany has a leash law and a pound. Fairly safe town with petty crime like any small town. Nobody ever in office but can always reach by phone if need to. This is a good town to retire. Kansas city and st Joseph are an hour or two away and has more if looking for city activities. Bethany is in process of building a bigger hospital. Town has many banks. A few fast food. Wal-Mart. Dollar tree. Dollar store. Two grocery. Two dentist. Three doctors. Library. A few diners and mom and pop shops. High school. Jr and elementary. Vocational. A barber. A few hair salons. They have parks. A lake. A pool. A ball field. A small theater. For activities thats about it. They do have the five day fair once a year at fairgrounds. If you like quiet then this is a great place. But be aware that there is a growing meth and drug problem in this town that seems to be getting worse. The law is working on fixing this. Yards are beautiful and has a park setting. I came here years ago to be around my parents. This was not the worst complex. But if you are looking for a place where you have an active senior community with the management involved in activity planning then this is not that senior retirement community. I still have friends who live there. From what I hear nothing has changed to make this place more activity involved or active. I now live at a complex in city and we always have a weekly dinner and bingo movie night. Older residents need things to do to stay active and vibrant. My only major issue with this place was that it felt more like a place to transition from life to death instead of a place to live.more ...hide ...
