I was with the resident as she was checking her mail which is between the two entrances of the building. So the thunderstorm had made electricity go out. Which is apart of nature yes. However two residents could not get back in building cause the door is electric. I had made call to office after the 5th try I was able to reach someone still am not sure what name she had said when she answered, I had explained I was calling on behalf of one of the residents before I could even say we cant get back inside of building. She says the electricity is out all over and there is nothing I can do about it. I said okay but you can come let us in. She sighed as if she was so upset with such a request. She said well its gonna take me 15 or maybe even 20 min cause I have to use the stairs.Well fortunately someone else was leaving the building so we was able to get in. I and the two residents with walkers took 6 flights of stairs. One resident left walker on ground level and used the railing for guidance up. I carried the other residents walker. One resident had a bad knee and the other resident was in her 80s so remember the part where I said the office lady was to come down in 15 to 20 min?I dont beleive she even did. The two residents rested on each floor so the 20 min had passed. No office lady who manages place to even let the two residents in, who pay a monthly fee to live. This is very aggravating and super uncaring. But my concern here is not just the poor choice of management. But why is there no back up generator? The electricity was not out all over either. But was out there in two buildings with ten floors of eldery or handicapped where stairs in situations like that some maybe cant do.One floor wasnt even lit up with the hallway emergency lights I used my phone to give some light however it wasnt much.I gave 2 stars lack of empathy and safety issues.Sincerely, Concernedmore ...hide ...
