Additionally, they wanted to contact someone at the university to confirm she was a student there. We both made clear that due to the worldwide PANDEMIC, these establishments were probably just as short-staffed as everyone else. Predictably, our pleas fell on deaf ears. All they offered was a compliance line number, and you can guess what happened when we called - no one answered! In the end, once they realized my sister was not an easy target, they told her they would be refunding her deposit as they could not "verify" her information. My sister went to retrieve her documents as the office no longer needed them. Later on, she received an email claiming SHE HAD DECLINED A UNIT THEY HAD OFFERED HER! It is appalling that they felt so secure in signing a false declaration and it is a shame that people have to go through such an ineffective and broken system. more ... hide ...

I had been living at Volcanes since they opened several years ago. The first management was great! I was a model tenant, paying rent on time and keeping my unit clean. They say they are willing to work with you, yet they send notices demanding you pay money. The leasing agent was impolite and refused to assist me. I gave them a thirty-day notice that I would be leaving prior to my lease expiring, but the leasing agent asked me, "What are you planning to do about your broken lease?" To make a long story short, they don't answer your calls, are unprofessional, and the property manager is continuously "out" when he is actually in the office. I had to go there multiple times to get answers. They signed a document stating I didn't owe any termination fees. A few months later, I received a letter from Monarch informing me that I would receive a refunded deposit, which never came. It was sent to collections and I have since disputed it and been cleared. They don't care about the good tenants who pay their rent on time and are good neighbors; they only care about money. more ... hide ...
