I like that AF is designed to address the educational gap among the most marginalized children in society. What is quite great is the lottery system that allows everyone an opportunity to get into one of their school locations. I think AF needs to think more deeply about their position in the communities they occupy and figure out a way to truly fight for an education for all. Instead, the community perceives them as invaders that rob the opportunity of other students to achieve. Whereas I understand there is no easy solution, I think the organization that runs the Charters can do more to close the gap of how they relate to the communities around them.more ...hide ...
