This was supposed to be a temporary arrangement to help her transition into her own apartment. She is living in a SRO and was informed that she would be moved out before reaching 25 years of age. However, she is now 31 and still living there. Moreover, we recently had a baby. I have been living with her since she was pregnant, hoping we would be able to move out soon. We informed the staff two months into the pregnancy, so they had plenty of time to help us. Nevertheless, they haven't done anything. We still have not been given the green light even though I have paid off her arrears. Now our child is five months old and we are still living in this cramped space. We are woken up by yelling and fighting in the hallways on a weekly basis. Last year, there was a gun shot in the staircase and this past week there was a stabbing in the lobby. We do not feel safe here and my partner does not want to remain in this place. We are scared of the consequences of abandoning this apartment, but The Lee is leaving us with few options. I am concerned for my partner and my child. I strongly suggest that you avoid this place, even if you are desperate.more ...hide ...
