I feel like they are trying to get me out of my home, I have been living here for four years. They refused to refund my overpayment on rent and said they would write a letter with that statement. I asked for evidence of their policy, yet they have been extremely disrespectful, unpredictable and I feel discriminated against based on my skin color. My new neighbours, who are white, had maintenance done to their house within days of them moving in, yet I'm still waiting for mine to be done. The landlord claimed that the repair I requested was something that had already been fixed, however I sent a picture with the order. The office informed me that it is up to the landlord to handle my maintenance request, which is to fix a hinge on a door. The landlord has become very unacceptable and wants to do things at their own pace. I pay my rent on time each month, yet they make me feel like they can do whatever they want. I'm fairly sure there is no longer a leasing manager looking after our property. We haven't seen Jessica on the premises in more than a month and people who wanted to get in touch with the office had no luck. Recently, Meeks rentals has taken control of the property we reside in Huntington and I am not pleased with them. They charged us more than what our leasing contract stated. Jessica is discourteous, impolite and bothersome. We even had to install security cameras in our apartment to be able to monitor our home when we are away because of their unexpected visits. We are no longer allowed to pay by check and must pay online with a $6 fee. They only show up when someone moves in, otherwise you are on your own if you need any assistance from the office staff. To add, the place is highly overpriced for the lack of amenities and upkeep. All in all, I would suggest you look for off campus housing elsewhere. more ... hide ...
