Unfortunately they have stopped within the last year or two. Over the years things have started a rocky trip down hill. There have been ups and downs, perks and problems with different managers. I see a lot of good people coming and going and the same with the not so good. I could talk for hours about the details of my experience here, but I am here right now to discuss my most recent disappointment. It was brought to my attention today the maintenance man was fired on the spot after an argument with a member of new management. This is what I have to say...I have not had any interaction with new management, myself. I have PTSD that causes severe anxiety and panic disorder. It has been worsened via several interactions with previous managements regarding personal violations, unwarranted threats, intimidation, and disability discrimination. The only person I have trusted was the maintenance guy, Bobby Berryhill. So, for the last two years (approximately more or less) hes the only person that I would speak to. Bobby has never been anything but kind, caring and helpful. I have never seen negativity or disrespect come from him. Bobby has seen me at my worst. He once arrived while I was panicking, and treated me with unexpected compassion and respect. He asked if he should leave and when I said he didnt have to he showed me a song to calm me down. In another event, he gave me advice on how to change my perspective, after asking for permission to; all while doing the job he came to do. I do not know the details of what happened for him to have been fired from his position but I do know that it is a complete shock to me because I have never seen a hint of a reason for such an action to be taken. I have lived here for almost 8 years, Ive seen a lot of people come and go. Bobby has by far been one of the best. Ive witnessed him picking up the slack from our previous managers, hes worked overtime, and done a lot of work without help from the previous maintenance manager. Hes always been available to fix any issues I may have or answer any questions or concerns regarding maintenance, with a kind smile on his face. Hes very knowledgeable, I find myself surprised often. I hope that this character statement helps to show what kind of employee was let go today. I hope there will be an investigation on this issue, because I do not believe this complex would be better off without him. And I hope my testimony of his character is helpful.I also hope that we are going to see improvement in our living environment. I do not believe nor wish for this to be a hostile place to live. I would love to see the special things they used to do, with and for us tennants, come back. I also hope that the new managers have a better understanding of how to be respectful and considerate while performing an (understandably potentially) stressful job.more ...hide ...
