I slowly opened the door and started to feel dizzy, struggling to keep my balance as I forced myself to hurry. When I made it to the other door that led to the main hallway, I felt my co-worker's arms catch me as I fell down to my knees. I had to sit there and take a moment to explain to my co-worker what was happening in my world before I was able to walk through the narrow hall of death. I can usually tell straight away if it's a new death spot or a lengthy passing. As I was trying to collect myself in the doorway, I heard a group of women screaming in what I can only describe as excruciating pain, sending me into a state of panic and overwhelming me. I explained to my co-worker that he had to help me make it through this mess I had gotten myself into in order to end this horrific way back down. I will never forget that day, nor will my co-worker. I asked the front desk about the history of the building and discovered that it had once been a shelter for battered women and many of the employees had only gone down to the basement more ... hide ...
