I can only comment on my own apartment and experiences. But I will discuss the pros and cons and observations.- My one bedroom was bigger than I expected it to be. I have sufficient storage space with two front closets, a pantry, a bedroom closet, and a linen closet. My living room and dining room are both bigger than I expected. Kitchens a bit cramped, but it works. I wish two of the drawers were better (ones a bit stuck, the other falls out, but I dont actually need them yet).- Every time Ive called the front office for maintenance, theyve come either immediately or within reasonable response time - including once for an A/C emergency on the weekend. Eventually they even put in new air condition equipment outdoors and indoors, which I greatly appreciated. Also every maintenance member is friendly and polite. :)- Management changed around March/April 2019, and so far I have no problems with them. They seem like theyre trying to actually improve the apartments. I truly hope thats the case.- Downsides: NO DISHWASHER :( for a disabled person, it sucks, but yknow, old apartments that are low-income. Also the washers and dryers break down or eat change (and are kinda expensive). Oh and Ive found my mailbox unlocked and emptied twice, I need to report that.- Unlike previous apartments, there was no apparent preparation*** for the new resident (me): you could tell they hadnt repainted or changed the carpets, fixed the burner, checked the lights or fan, and the toilet still takes a long time to flush and is very weak and can take multiple flushes. Lots of marks and minor issues, doors get stuck, and poor design where the bedroom door and closet door cannot be open at the same time.*** Again, this was with previous management, so its possible that new management will do things differently. They seem very determined and did inspections of our apartments and did fix something I mentioned.Ive lived here less than a year. My biggest problems are solved, really, and the rest is just neighbors, for better and worse.- My kid has made friends. Theres plenty of grass for soccer and playing, but they really ought to update the playground and also maybe just add a simple wooden or metal ball pit since kids tend to leave older soccer / football / basketball / kickballs out for everyone, which is nice.My rent is income-driven so its affordable and livable and I feel comfortable and safe here. It may not be like the middle class suburbs Ive lived in, but its also not bad so far, either. Im looking forward to seeing how things change and hopefully improve a little.Ill update if need be.more ...hide ...
