This is really an iconic place and I recommend everyone to visit twice. Come the first time as a tourist, understand the history, visit the US National Monument across the street. You wont need to use a lot of imagination, I am not sure its changed that much on the inside. Then visit a second time - come visit just like you would go out to any fun neighborhood gay bar, and enjoy the drinks, the handsome bartenders, and the fact this is a local institution for the community, and have a great time. Drinks are strong like many local places, various beers on tap, pool tables downstairs and drag queens upstairs... Its hard to ask for anything more.more ...hide ...

I have known about this place since 1985 and it has never been as trashy as it was the day I visited!!! There is trash all over the yards, parking lots, next to the dumpsters, and the inside of the office is not neat or I have known about this place since 1985 and it has never been as trashy as it was the day I visited!!! There is trash all over the yards, parking lots, next to the dumpsters, and the inside of the office is not neat or tidy! Theres no flowers or anything to make it look nice or inviting!! The staff and maintenance there to me appear to be lazy and unconcerned about the property or the tenants! And I moved out a year ago into a house, and went to visit my friends, and never in my time or knowing about this place, since 1985 have I ever seen it look so nasty and disgusting! Also the cops were called at two different locations for women and men fighting with each other! And there are an abundance of people living there who are not on leases and they have several people who have pit bulls, which are not allowed, (no dog over 30 lb is allowed) and they wait until after hours to bring their dogs out to walk them!more ...hide ...

Not nice at all. They ok like most low income units of not worse. They are need a lot of work.
