Our neighbor threatened me, talking about my unborn baby and even touched my stomach. Her husband also constantly hit on me. They then accused us of smoking weed in our apartment, even though the smell was coming from their own home. We called the police and they came. After they came into our apartment and saw that we were not doing drugs, we did not feel safe there anymore. So when our lease was up, we told C that we wouldn't be renewing it. She said that she understood but was sad to see us go. Before we left, we made sure the place was immaculate! We vacuumed, steam cleaned and mopped everything. There was already a hole in the door that they knew about, but we fixed it and it only cost us 80 dollars. Our security deposit was 350. We thought everything was okay and said they could keep the deposit, as we felt bad that we weren't staying anymore and because of the door. Unfortunately, when my family of six tried to get another apartment, the ones we were living in charged us 1,956 dollars for not giving a notice that we were moving out, for two broken doors, for another month's rent and a late fee and for "excessive cleaning".
