2020-04-05T18:34:59ZThis is long bare with me its good I swearnnI was very excited to find a place at Bella Vista in Lincoln Park after having searched since December 2019 I was willing to overlook several issues no place is perfect that included windows that didnt lock This is long bare with me its good I swearnnI was very excited to find a place at Bella Vista in Lincoln Park after having searched since December 2019 I was willing to overlook several issues no place is perfect that included windows that didnt lock or latch a broken drawer being charged a cleaning fee when clearly the macaroni and ramen noodle remnants in the cupboards or crack pipe under the fridge and spiderwebs had been neglected I signed a lease on March 18th of 2020 and by March 19th 2020 I discovered a very live BED BUG in my unit I contacted the onsite manager immediately in the morning and was told I mustve brought the bugs in Id been living with family for months and hadnt nor have I since found ANY signs of bed bugs in that or my previous residence The onsite manager contacted the ownerlandlord and I was provided two options pay to exterminate at my expense or move but I was generously offered my deposit back I sought advice from friends and family but then kept receiving messages from the manager demanding my answer for what I was going to do I responded by saying I was trying to make an educated decision I did not explain I was most likely going to accept their offer to move Before I could provide a real answer I was informed management would be terminating my lease and issuing a refund I requested a copy of the lease I signed for my records to be mailed with the refund check When the check arrived no copy of the lease I contacted the manager who stated because my lease was void that I could not receive a copy and then she proceeded to argue with me about who actually terminated residency but heres the kicker for me I have EVERY text message photos of the home and video evidence I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy They most certainly have a bed bug infestation that they intend to do NOTHING about a terrible attitude towards dealing with issues especially so early on a lack of common sense and I can only imagine how they handle other issues if their so nonchalant about BED BUGS Gross on so many levels more ... hide ...
