I was granted great privilege here by both the management team and their regional office, officer and by deputies of the Stafford Sheriffs Department while they had a presence here on the property. I cannot speak of bad times, but there was a bad management cell a long time ago, a group of corrupt people, who got found out and busted for embezzlement. That maintenance supervisor, Terry, of that management cell, tried to EXTORT $65 dollars out of me for a new clause in the updated lease that was not in my older lease. He stood in my door with a long charcoal lighter and I refused. The manager called me and argued with me, \"DO YOU WANT YOUR HOT WATER ON OR NOT?!\" she arrogantly demanded over the phone. My wife and I got a Pro-Bono lawyer and forced them to come out and light our water heater.I love it here and will be taken someday from building 118, to be laid to rest. Im done moving around. I have a peaceful community filled with families, their kids that Ive adopted (Mr. Phil), and all the pets are my constant joy. I chose this exact apartment because it was the highest point in the geographic placement of the complexs layout, plus it faced the peaceful and bird-filled woods. To those who find this review inviting, may I suggest buildings 114, 116 and 118, or buildings 76 through 82. All of these buildings face the wooded college property (very quiet). Ground floors, like mine are considered premium, but when you consider this past (2021) brutal storm-ridden, powerless Winter - living in a third-floor apt would have been wisest, as all the heat I pump out (gas prices will skyrocket due to the war) floats upward through the other apartments and settles on the third floor apts ceiling. Ive heard tell; they dont even use their thermostats in the Winter!...as Ive said, the management of both the on-site complex and the regional supervisor have given me some of the best ministerial years of my life in the clergy. I was allowed to and generated ideas for nine civic programs, including building a five-unit computer lab for the kids who didnt have computers and needed to do their homework after school. The regional office offered a large amount of money to buy new operating systems for all five units - a large sum. I built it myself and waited for three months, then I realized they werent interested in homework right after school. But Game & Movie Night along with the physical fitness program, and Teen Bonfire were a great success and built a strong community here at S.L.A.There were corrective programs designed to help our at-risk youth, kids from single-parent homes, with a focus on stopping bullying and decreasing property damage. I was honored to be entrusted with spending Saturday mornings walking with the groups of kids who had been caught doing something and their parents had elected to have them report to me. One resident stopped me and in disbelief, asked, \"What did you say to my son?! He calls me maam now, has stopped cursing at me and does what I ask him!\" Thats not an exaggeration, thats results. We had it here at one time and can have it again if people will catch the vision. This is a community which still thrives and grows as its faces change from season to season and to every season here at Stafford Lakes Apartments, Ill continue to turn, turn, turn until I am called home.more ...hide ...
