The staff is unqualified to deal with senior citizens and they treat them disrespectfully. I reported them to the people at the elderly abuse office and they no longer will refer anyone there. The tenants there are not happy and are not financially able to leave. They put people in unsafe situations that could truly hurt them. I had a man in a wheelchair put above me and he constantly made loud thumping noises with his feet to scoot himself around. The man should have been put on the first floor for his own safety and for the safety of the firemen who would have to rescue him in an emergency. When I complained about the noise they told me to get ear plugs or move. I wound up in the hospital for a week with chest pains from the stress and aggravation. That man also would have liked to be on the first floor. The buildings were constructed in the beginning for college students and used as dorms. Now they lease them to senior adults who have their safety compromised with having to go down a long narrow staircase hauling their laundry to wash. The newest remodeled office area is for the comfort of the office workers and not the tenants. They put an elevator in that building and an upstairs laundry about four months ago. When you ask the staff about keeping the areas clean they tell you it is not their job. They want 80 and 90 year old tenants to clean up the community room after they play bingo. That community room is only left open during office hours. It should be left unlocked for the seniors to be able to use it. They retaliated against me when I left by charging me an unreasonable amount of damages which did not happen. My yorkie was so afraid of the noises from upstairs that he urinated on the bedroom carpet out of fear. They kept my deposit and charged me twice the amount of the deposit. Also, they said it had to be paid in 15 days or it would be sent to a collection agency, which it was. The other tenants can vouch for the appearance of the apartment and also agree that it was unreasonable what they did. So, if anyone thinks about moving elderly people there I would strongly discourage them from doing so. They need to be investigated for their practices and I am going to take this matter further. This is what happened to me and other people for standing up to them.more ...hide ...
