We were eager to move in because of the low prices in 2021. They used covid as enexcuse of no tours. Because we werent sure, everyone agreed to sign a 6 month lease, day of closing they told us we we had to sign a 12 mon th lease, or lose our deposit. We should have refused to sign. Got our keys and went through the narrow squeaky smelly stairs to a sad excuse for an apartment. It was clearly not cleaned, had a terrible paint job and filled in holes, staples from the carpet were sticking through, hair was in the sinks and tub, sticky counter tops, the bathroom walls were dripping yellow and stank of cigarettes. Complained, but of course nothing happened. The first day we were there there was a fight in the parking lot which escalated to people crashing each others cars and chasing each other out onto the road. The kitchen cabinets were so fragile, when they did break and we called maintenance, all he did was complain, took our drawers for two days and when he came back to install them he complained about how he had to put them back together himself. About halfway through our lease we had a \"random inspection\" which was honestly expected and was due, theyre required to change the air filters but of course, we had to buy our own. Then about 3 months before the end of our lease, SUPRISE! Rent increased about $200, after that, definitely never coming back. Then to our surprise our lease ended two weeks sooner than the day we signed but we werent going to argue and left. When we attempted to turn our keys in we waited and called the office for an hour while it was open and none responded, they got the Keys in the rent checks box. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for! more ... hide ...

Savannah Springs is independent senior living. There is no staff except part-time office manager and handyman. The large furnished lobby is a perk, with coded security door, and the apartments are very large with shiny h and holds and wheelchair size doors. It is an all-around attractive environment. The community, mostly elderly ladies, has a very family feel with helpful attitudes. Parking is reserved with a separate section for guests, and a pavilion. There are several community spaces, a small theater room, and a small computer room, even a few exercise machines. The interior is quiet. The one significant drawback of this location is the sometimes noisy intersection of Trier Road and Goeglein Road , where too many fast cars and motorcycles \"drag\" off the intersection line, with inadequate mufflers, speed shifting and gears winding out. Unit walls are not heavily soundproofed so residents near the corner on street-side require ability to tolerate sporadic noise. more ... hide ...

I used to live here at Cambridge Square a while back. I first moved in in 2009 and moved out in the summer of 2016. When I lived here before a woman moved across the hall from me and we have been very close friends ever since. When I moved out it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. My original plan was to stay here until a handsome man swept me away to join him in a life of love and luxury. That didnt happen. What did happen was a series of unfortunate events starting with the death of my mother less than 1 year later. I am now disabled and unable to work and I got on the waiting list a while back. I just moved in two months ago and my health is decreased to the point where I need to be in a handicap accessible apartment. I would like for people to understand that theyre only three maintenance guys for this entire complex even though it is small. The guys do more than just come in our apartments and fix things. They take care of the grounds as well and other things that Im sure we dont even think about. I know people dont like the fact that they have the right to enter our apartment at any time but if you look at any lease you will find that that is not uncommon. The logistics of trying to do the everyday work of maintenance personal while scheduling things with tenants would be insane if they didnt have the freedom to come and go. And we are notified in advance of any routine maintenance such as replacing furnace filters and checking smoke alarms. Which is done every 3 months. Can you name another apartment complex that does that every 3 months? Or other regular maintenance. The 24 hours is for emergency calls. They dont live here and they dont work 24 hours a day. When I moved back all the staff that was here before had been promoted. So how bad could they actually be? I find that a lot of problems around here that people are complaining about are actually caused by the tenants and/ or themselves are in fact in violation of their own leaes. Theres trash in the recycle bin. Pet waste. Items left outside the dumpster. When I was walking to my car the other day someone had emptied their car ashtray onto the parking lot 2 spaces from a dumpster. Sheets and blankets used as window coverings. When I lived here before across from my friend we just took it upon ourselves to clean the second floor we kept it swept and mopped and during the winter we kept it swept frequently when the salt would cake up. Maintenance is here before and after their scheduled hours in the winter just to keep the surfaces safe for us. I know this because I am a light sleeper and have been woken up by the sounds of maintenance at 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning.I used to be known for falling at least once of year due to ice and snow but I have never fallen on Cambridge Square property. Nobodys perfect but that man with the life of love and luxury can stay where hes at. Im happy here. Ill leave when the corner comes to get me. more ... hide ...
