DO NOT RENT HERE!! BEDBUGS, COCKROACHES, POOR/NO MANAGEMENT. WARNING: This a very thorough review...Trust me, I hate to write this long of a review, but I dont want anyone to go into this apartment blindly. Im very under standing and patient, but this is the worst Ive ever encountered for a residence. G & K manages this property and others so if you ever see a rental property from them, RUUUuUNNNNn!!Our old manager (Mike) was fired because of his negligence to the property for years. Before I signed a lease, I asked him if the apartment had roaches/rodents, he told me they did not. That was a lie. He also said our apartment gets a complimentary carpet cleaning. That was also a lie. Funny, a month after I moved in, I ran into a neighbor as I was getting my mail and I asked him if he knew when the doorbell system would be working to let in our guests instead of running downstairs to open the door for them every time. The gentleman said, \"Ha! That hasnt worked since I moved in a year ago. Mike always says hell get it fixed and never does\".I thought Mike was a great manager (my first year) like the other reviews said, so I gave it some time before I realized my neighbor was right. It would never be fixed --- 3 years & counting. His slackness was also the cause of damage to my vehicle a year ago from the garage door falling down and he failed to place proper signage that we could not drive in that day. Unsurprisingly, my insurance company couldnt get a hold of him because he wasnt in the office as usual and I ended up having to pay $500 for damages. Thats G&K Management for you.Anyway, all the residents found out Mike was no longer a manager with a notice to door of unpaid balances/late fees. I went to the office confused because I have never had a late payment or unpaid balance and saw ALL the residents in the entire building in a line refuting the same thing! Turns out, Mike wasnt doing his \"accounting/bookkeeping\" correctly or at all as he was hardly in the office. Instead of accepting responsibility, G&K hassled all of the residents to prove their checks were slid under the door on the 1st, show proof of dates in their checking accounts, and billing statements for the last couple of years to be released from their false debt/fees. I really feel bad for the elderly that live there and werent tech savy enough to keep emails & pull up records online. Nevertheless, his name is still listed on site as a property manager. They brought a temporary manager named Micah for a few months who was great. He followed proper pest control measures, kept the place clean, was in the office during hours and had great communication. Even though these things were simply what a manager what was supposed to be doing, we stopped by a few times to compliment him on what a great job he was doing. But just like Micah was temporary, so was the improvement. The place is back to its normal cockroach infested, pile high trash bins, and management is no where to be found. Now the place has bed bugs smh, which my husband and I are treating on our own. To show you how nonexistent management is on this property, if I moved out last month when the bed bugs became an issue, I would be gone for a month already and G&K wouldnt even know.I should also note that, Emilio, the maintenance man is the only one that does work on the property. Hes good and responsive, but he doesnt have an email address or any other contact information so if you see him its best to have him come right away for any service request.Oh lastly I forgot to mention, that if they send your bill in the mail 2 weeks late, youll be responsible for paying late fees for paying rent when you just received the notice. How crazy is that? more ... hide ...
