Ive lived here for 6+ years. I love the layout of the apartments. Neighbors pretty much keep to themselves. Havent had many problems through the years that havent been resolved until now. The complex recently changed own ers and they brought in a new Management Company, Village Green. Im not sure who is to blame for all the changes, the new owners or the VG but Ill tell you, this last year has made it very hard for me to continue living here. The childrens play area and the pseudo basket ball area was removed to accommodate a dog park. This leaves the children of the area no designated spot to play. Most of them play by the maintenance shack which, to me, seems unsafe. We even received an email telling us not to let the kids play in the dog pack, for their safety of course. They have now moved to a market rent model where all residents pay the same price, regardless of how long theyve lived in the complex. My rent is scheduled to go up from 1,365 to 1,515 at renewal, with no additional upgrades or incentives. Additionally, at renewal, we will go from paying a flat rate for water (included in my 1,365) to paying a variable rate based on the usage of all the people in our building for a given month. With LR Management and the previous owners, trash on the property was collected 6 days a week. Its now being collected 3 days a week. The maintenance staff with LR used to walk the entire complex every morning to pick up trash and maintain the property.. I havent seen that done since LR left. Needless to say... Theres trash everywhere. In VGs defense, they are very short staffed. They have only one maintenance (supervisor) person for the whole complex. They had more than one.. There was a nice young man who started when VG took over. I hear, from the maintenance supervisor, that he was fired. Honestly, he was the best one theyve had. Better in home presence than the current guy and he fixed all my issues with no problem. Because they only have one maintenance person, the wait to get non-emergency things fixed in your apartment has gone from less than 24 hours to at least a week. The kicker for me to decided to move somewhere else was the most recent email weve received telling us its now our responsibility to shovel our own porches and to have a shovel and salt on hand. Another thing to mention is that they have gone through at about 4 actual property mangers. The newest one, Dustin, was here for a couple months. We had no property manager through December with a new manager starting the first of the year. If you chose to move here out of need or want, just know what you are getting into. The amenities are great and living in the actual apartment is great but the new owners and the new Management Company leave a lot to be desired at the rate we pay for rent. more ... hide ...
