My boyfriend and I moved in about a month ago to the Ponds, and we absolutely love it here. Moving during the Covid era definitely presents some unique challenges, but thankfully we scoped this place out in February befo re the craziness took over.First, after finding some photos online, I sent an email to the property. I got a call and email back the same day from Amy, who works in the office. She was so friendly and helpful, answering all of my questions and generally seeming like the most warm and welcoming person! We set up time to come look at the property. Amy was our guide, cheerful and informative, showing us various model units and walking us around the ponds and buildings. We talked about pets and bonded over pop culture and she laughed at our probably lame jokes. We were also impressed with the clean, well-maintained property and spacious units available.Over the next several weeks, Amy was extremely communicative as we gathered all the pieces we needed for our lease application. She kept us in the loop on status and sent reminders for anything we still needed to complete. We were so excited to sign the lease once our approval came through, and once again Amy made us feel so welcome. She also introduced us to Guy, the property manager. Hes also very friendly and helpful! Basically you could not ask for a better office staff.Over the next few months, I set up pinterest boards and counted down the days til I could move into our new home. Amy reassured me with all of my random anxieties and questions when Covid hit, and was flexible with us on changing our move-in date to a few days earlier so we would have more time to transition between our old place and our new one.Now lets talk about the property & apartment itself. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with lots of wildlife--birds, squirrels, ducks, geese, frogs, rabbits--the gangs all here! The ponds are serene and there are several fountains that add to the charm. There are also trees and flowers throughout, so it really doesnt feel as suburban as many other locations. There are walking trails that are paved, which is great. I havent gotten to use the pool yet due to Covid but it looks nice. The buildings are secure, with locked front doors and a buzzer system to get in for guests. Neighbors are quiet but friendly, and the walls seem pretty sound proof so far.The living room is huge, and connects to the dining room in a nice open space thats divided by part carpet, part wood laminate floor. Theres a nice sized kitchen with stainless steel appliances and electric stove and dishwasher. We have a two-bedroom unit, so one room is devoted to pop culture collections and media and the other is a true bedroom. Its nice and roomy, with a humongous walk-in closet that Im using in part as a closet and in part as a mini office/recording space for podcasts. It feels very luxurious. The bathroom has a half wall that keeps the toilet and shower separate from the large vanity & mirror. Theres a perfect little nook for the cats litter box, and plenty of room to get ready in the morning.I love the balcony, which is really big and has lots of space for plants as well as seating. Since we face South, we get a lot of sunlight which I love. There are two wall unit air conditioners--one in the living room/one in the main bedroom. It keeps the place nice and cool, but if you run them for a while you can turn them off and keep the shades drawn and it stays pretty cool most of the day.Another thing I love about this place is the ability to customize--we were told we can paint, hang pictures, and make it our own. Ive never been able to do that in a rental before and Im taking full advantage of making this place feel like home.My cats love it, and so do we! If youre thinking about moving here, do it! more ... hide ...
