My residence was not tidied up, but the carpeting was swapped out with flooring and personal things of the prior occupants were still there.2. The thermostat was never in good working order. I raised the issue and supplied a better thermostat, yet we still had to replace it several times. Other dwellers had the same grievance.3. There was an acrid smell coming up from the kitchen sink. One of the maintenance personnel cleared the drains, but the scent lingered.4. At the time of our visit to Cogir, we asked our guide about the continuity of staff and she stated that the property had recently been bought and some modifications in personnel were expected. This made sense to us and we accepted the explanation. Then the game of musical chairs began, and the tour guide was no longer there. Five (I think) executive directors have followed, two of whom were not even formally introduced to the residents. Then there was a person sent from the head office who made lots of promises, including changing the food to be more alluring and being visible in the dining room regularly. However, I never once saw her! The head nurse and activity director have gone through two or three changes. The assistant director of finance left suddenly, followed by two more.5. Marnie Walker, the Sales Manager, helped us make the right decision to choose them in the first place. Everyone we encountered at this facility - from front desk to kitchen workers - were so upbeat and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job; a credit to Ken Klotz's Executive Director for cultivating such an inviting climate. Maria Crespo from Business Office Manager was always cheerful and helpful with anything we needed assistance with, including financial issues. Ernie Vigil from Health & Wellness Director took a personal interest in my Mom's wellbeing while always finding time for an informal chat when needed.
