My sister lived the Birchwood Villas a 55 community in Manhattan KS She lived in the community for over a year and half and paid market rate She died May 9 and we were told by Suzanne Perez reported facility manager on the exit walk through that the My sister lived the Birchwood Villas a 55 community in Manhattan KS She lived in the community for over a year and half and paid market rate She died May 9 and we were told by Suzanne Perez reported facility manager on the exit walk through that the initial deposit of 200 would be refunded as there was no damage to the property BUT HERE IT COMESWe were recently notified with a letter on 612018 that the 200 deposit would not be refunded as it was their policy not to refund the deposit if the lease was broken I DO NOT CONSIDER DEATH TO BE A BROKEN LEASE While this is not a large sum of money I feel this is a loss of integrity and there are many families that may depend on these funds after a family member has passed away I am more concerned with the integrity aspect of saying one thing and then later doing another by a letter and with no real reasoning as the 250 deposit for a pet was refunded less the 150 carpet cleaning Seems to be some incongruencies and again some integrity concerns Please note This is a HUD tax credit program with the government funds more ... hide ...
