This building has been plagued by bed bugs for a long time. We had been living there for three years before we realized that our place was infected and numerous tenants had already left due to the problem. It is worth noting that when Kathy Martinez started working here, the apartment she moved into had just been treated for bed bugs. Orkin came in to try and solve the issue but noted that Tomlinson and Associates were not taking the necessary measures due to cost-related concerns. After three weeks, we found out that the infestation had spread to our next-door neighbor despite their heat treatment. This was an awful experience, with Kathy and Tomlinson and Associates treating us terribly throughout the process. They didn't answer our emails and Kathy even hung up on us when we called. We took them to court and soon after they received the legal summons, they contacted us and settled out of court. It's a shame that they are doing this in a building which is 80% tax credit housing, as most of the people here do not have the means to move or the knowledge to take action against Tomlinson and Associates. Moreover, they were taking advantage of the situation by charging those affected by the bed bugs $1000 for treatment, even though they were well aware of the building's pre-existing problem. more ... hide ...

Since May 2017, we have been pleased with our residence. Our neighbors are respectful and courteous, the management is approachable and friendly, and our grounds are well maintained by the very kind maintenance man. Our apartment is roomy and ideal for entertaining visitors, and it has excellent insulation for any temperature (stays toasty in winter and fresh in summer) so we rarely have to use our air conditioner or heater. All in all, I would highly suggest River Plaza. The ideal situation in downtown near the green belt and college is perfect for us scholars. The only downside is the parking – it is difficult to find a space on weekdays between 9 and 5 since we share the parking area with other businesses. It can be bothersome, but it is manageable. The homeless shelter has never caused us any problems and is a great resource for men in need of shelter in Boise. An additional downside is that you can't receive your packages on weekends – they are usually delivered to the office and, if you don't get it during business hours, you have to wait. Apart from that, I truly enjoy living here and have become friends with a couple of my neighbors – a very dog-friendly location! My dog loves to play with his playmates. more ... hide ...
