It was definitely worth the wait since I love living here so much. At the time of signing up, I also applied to over a dozen other similar facilities, most of them located in Virginia. After a few years, some of those places became available, but I decided to stay at La Plata Manor for several reasons: 1) I only had to modify my address and not my doctors, insurances or other important factors; 2) I was still close to home; 3) I was still near all my friends; and 4) I had only heard good opinions about the Manor.
Now that I've been living here for a while, I'm really glad I chose this place and I'm still in love with it. There are plenty of residents here, so there is always a cheerful atmosphere. The staff, especially Sharon Hardesty, the Community Manager, are very friendly and helpful; they always greet me with a smile, wave and kind words and they address any issues I might have as soon as possible. The pictures attached show the exercise, community, computer, billiard and mail rooms, but what they don't show are the very convenient trash chutes on each floor and the in-house laundry room.
I would highly recommend La Plata Manor for anyone looking for senior housing.more ...hide ...
