After 5 pm, the activity has been going on for several hours, and now it is after 9:30 pm and nearing 10 pm. Maintenance personnel are making a loud racket while working on the apartment above me. Security informed me that this is to ready the place for a move-in sometime in August. There is a new rule in place that noise complaints can't be filed before 11 pm. The sounds are irritating and I experience migraine headaches, being a disabled Army Veteran and usually tranquil tenant. I have always paid the rent in full before the first of the month for the past three years, and I recently renewed my lease for two more years to secure an affordable rate. This evening is very displeasing. Rent went up during the pandemic, even though we didn't get to enjoy the facilities associated with this luxurious apartment. I understand that the pandemic had a role in these limitations, yet I don't think the rent should've increased to compensate. My neighbors have never had any complaints about me since I take very good care of my apartment and am considerate of them. In my opinion, I deserve more respect than this and should've been informed in advance. Honestly, I believe this is a rush to get the apartment ready at such a late hour after business hours, which is very dissatisfying.more ...hide ...
