When factoring in the cost and location, it isn't too bad. I think it is much better than other nearby possibilities. Nevertheless, the buildings are a bit antiquated so you may hear creaking from the floorboards. You have two choices: either the first floor where the sound may come from your neighbor above or the second floor where you may still hear creaking, but you will also feel it. There are pros and cons to both. The maintenance staff is really friendly. Though, depending on the urgency of your request, it may take some time to get a response. This is understandable since there are only two of them and the virus is still out there.Do not be worried about safety. There are plenty of deterrents. You are right next to the highway police station and during my two years there, there was either one or two officers living there and parking their police cars as well. Also, you are near the highway that leads from Sumter to Florence. If you cannot accept the cars driving by as white noise, you should not move here. This is mainly an issue for the apartments located in the back.In conclusion, you get what you pay for. It is not going to be perfect. If you are flexible, you should be fine. If that is not the case, then do not move. I sincerely mean this. I wouldmore ...hide ...

It was one of the more affordable options when I was searching for my first place of residence. The maintenance and property management staff were great and very professional; I never had any issues with them. The major problem I had wasn't even the age or size of the apartments; you get what you pay for and I wasn't expecting the Bellagio or anything. My major issue was the inadequate cooling of my apartment. I don't know if it was the low-cost insulation of the building, the fact that it was on the second floor, the aged A/C unit that appeared like it hadn't been replaced since the building was constructed, the big main window that the sun shone directly through the majority of the day, or a combination of the four. For about three-four months throughout the hottest part of the year my apartment would get up to around 79-80 degrees in the hottest part of the day even with A/C on full blast (with my highest electric bill being $179, for a ~600 sq. ft. 1 bed apartment!). I reported it to property management and they had maintenance change the filter for me, but they said that it is just how some of these apartments are and there wasn't much they could do. If you move in there, I would recommend trying to obtain a first floor unit with windows that do not face south. Also, road noise from 378 was quite loud somore ...hide ...
