I lived at Oakview for five years There are a lot of reasons not to like living here but there are a few key reasons that kept me there all five years I lived in GRnnFirst and foremost it was the lowest cost of living I could find period let alone wi I lived at Oakview for five years There are a lot of reasons not to like living here but there are a few key reasons that kept me there all five years I lived in GRnnFirst and foremost it was the lowest cost of living I could find period let alone within 10 minutes of downtown Heat water sewer and trash included for less than 700mo 1BR less than 800mo 2BR As someone working for a company that didnt pay me well until my last year there it was the best option for mennSecond They took care of the property as well as the apartments I had carpet issues and they handled them Plumbing issues also handled in a timely manner The big trees are beautiful in ever seasonnnIts not perfect and if you move here you arent guaranteed to love your neighbors but its a great mixed community with great proximity to good food access to downtown and the best Meijer I ever shopped at Knapps CornernnI cant give them five stars but I can recommend them more ... hide ...

Roaches have been a huge problem; the management has sprayed four times in the last year, yet I'm still seeing them. Five years ago it was different, but now they're letting just anyone move in. There are only two maintenance workers to cover the entire complex and it's a mess - garbage everywhere and pet owners not cleaning up their pet waste. These apartments look neglected. I know rent in Grand Rapids is expensive, but I'd rather pay more and be comfortable than be scared in my own home because of the roaches. I'm extremely clean, yet it doesn't matter when the people around me are not. The staff are nice and they send the exterminator, but it's pointless when the residents don't keep their place clean. Oakview should renovate these apartments right away. The only good thing is the rent is economical for those who are just looking for a temporary place to stay until they can do better. I'm not badmouthing Oakview, I'm just giving my honest opinion. I can't wait to buy my own home and leave this place! more ... hide ...
